Cookie Policy
Effective Date: July 14, 2026
1. What This Policy Covers
This Cookie Policy explains how firstplacefix.com (First Place Fix, the Site, we, us, or our) uses cookies, local browser storage, and similar technologies. It should be read with the Privacy Policy. A cookie is a small browser file; local storage is a browser feature that can keep a preference on your device without using a traditional cookie.
2. Technologies Used on the Site
2.1 Essential Preference Storage
The Site stores your cookie-consent choice in local browser storage. This lets the privacy control remember whether you selected Accept all or Essential only. The preference is necessary to respect your choice and does not contain your name, email address, or message content.
2.2 Google Tag and Analytics
The Site loads Google tag and may use Google Analytics to understand aggregate readership and technical performance. Google Consent Mode is configured so analytics and advertising-related storage signals default to denied. Selecting Accept all updates the relevant signals; selecting Essential only keeps optional signals denied.
Google explains that its services may process information such as the page URL, IP address, browser or device information, interactions, identifiers, and cookies or similar signals, depending on the service, region, consent choice, and settings. Consent Mode may allow privacy-preserving or cookieless measurement requests even when optional storage is denied.
2.3 Advertising
First Place Fix may use Google AdSense if advertising is enabled. Advertising cookies, identifiers, or personalized advertising are subject to the visitor's choices, browser settings, region, Google's controls, and any additional consent platform required for that audience. The Site will update this policy if its advertising setup materially changes.
3. Why These Technologies Are Used
We use essential preference storage to remember privacy choices. When permitted, measurement technology helps us understand page traffic, diagnose errors, improve navigation, and evaluate content performance. Advertising technology, when enabled and permitted, may deliver, limit, measure, secure, or personalize ads according to the applicable settings.
4. Your Choices
On the Site, choose Accept all to permit optional measurement and advertising-related storage signals, or Essential only to keep optional signals denied. You can reopen Cookie Preferences from the footer and change your selection at any time.
You can also delete cookies and local storage, block third-party cookies, or restrict site storage through your browser. Google Ad Settings and the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on provide additional controls. Blocking optional storage does not prevent access to the Site's articles, although measurement and future advertising behavior may be limited or less personalized.
Simply continuing to browse is not treated by the Site's preference control as permission for optional storage. Until you make a choice, optional consent signals remain denied.
5. Retention
The consent preference remains in local browser storage until you change it or clear Site data. Cookies or identifiers set by Google are retained according to the specific service, product settings, consent status, browser controls, region, and Google's policies. First Place Fix does not state one universal expiration period for technology controlled by another provider.
6. Data Sharing and Sale
First Place Fix does not sell personal information or rent visitor email addresses. Google and infrastructure providers may process information to provide measurement, security, hosting, or advertising services under their own terms and privacy notices. See the Privacy Policy for more detail about information processing and disclosures.
7. Updates and Contact
We may update this Cookie Policy when Site technology, service providers, advertising, or consent controls change. The effective date at the top identifies the latest revision.
For questions about this policy or a privacy request concerning information controlled by First Place Fix, email contact@firstplacefix.com. This address is not an emergency repair or safety service.
