Privacy Policy
Effective Date: July 14, 2026
1. Scope and Site Identity
This Privacy Policy explains how firstplacefix.com (First Place Fix, the Site, we, us, or our) handles information when you visit the Site or contact us. First Place Fix is an independent educational home-care guide site. It is not a contractor, licensed trade service, landlord, property manager, inspection company, or emergency service.
The Site does not offer user accounts, public comments, checkout, or a newsletter sign-up form. Information may still be processed through normal web requests, analytics technology, consent preferences, server logs, and email that you choose to send.
2. Information That May Be Processed
2.1 Website and Device Data
When a page loads, browsers and web services may process information such as the requested page URL, IP address, approximate location derived from an IP address, browser and device type, operating system, referral source, date and time, pages viewed, and interactions with the Site. We use this information to operate the Site, understand aggregate traffic, troubleshoot errors, and protect the Site from abuse.
The Site uses Google tag and may use Google Analytics for audience measurement and site performance. Google explains that browsers may send the visited page URL and IP address when a site uses Google services, and that Google services may set or read cookies depending on the service, consent choice, browser settings, and region. First Place Fix does not use analytics reports to identify visitors by name.
2.2 Consent and Preference Data
The cookie preference control stores your choice in local browser storage so the Site can remember whether you selected optional measurement or essential-only operation. You can reopen Cookie Preferences from the footer, change your choice, or clear site data in your browser.
2.3 Server Logs
Our hosting infrastructure may create standard security and access logs when it delivers a page or file. These logs may include an IP address, requested URL, timestamp, response status, browser user agent, and referral information. They are used for security, reliability, debugging, and abuse prevention.
2.4 Information You Send by Email
If you email contact@firstplacefix.com, we receive your email address and any name, message, attachments, or other details you choose to include. Please do not send sensitive personal, financial, medical, legal, account, lease, or identity-document information. The inbox is for corrections, accessibility issues, source notes, and non-urgent editorial questions, not repair dispatch or emergencies.
3. How We Use Information
We use available information to deliver and secure the Site, remember privacy preferences, measure aggregate readership, diagnose technical problems, improve navigation and content, answer voluntary messages, prevent fraud or abuse, and comply with applicable obligations.
We do not sell personal information. We do not use visitor email messages to build advertising profiles, and we do not require an account to read the Site.
4. Google Services and Advertising
Google tag is configured with Google Consent Mode. Analytics and advertising-related consent signals default to denied until a visitor makes a choice through the Site's privacy control. A denied signal does not necessarily prevent every privacy-preserving or cookieless request that Google may process under its own documentation.
First Place Fix may use Google Analytics for measurement and may use Google AdSense if advertising is enabled. Google acts under its own terms and privacy policies when it processes information through these services. Depending on consent, settings, region, and the Google service involved, this may include cookies, identifiers, page URLs, IP addresses, device or browser information, ad interactions, and approximate location.
If advertising is introduced or materially changed, the Site will update its disclosures and implement the consent tools required for the applicable audience and advertising service. Visitors in regions with additional consent requirements may receive different controls or advertising behavior.
5. Service Providers and Disclosure
Information may be processed by providers that help us host and deliver the Site, operate email, measure traffic, maintain security, or serve advertising when enabled. We may also disclose information when reasonably necessary to comply with law, respond to a valid legal process, protect the Site or its users, investigate abuse, or preserve security.
We do not rent mailing lists, sell email addresses, or disclose voluntary messages to advertisers for their own direct marketing. Third-party services process data according to their own terms, controls, and privacy notices.
6. Retention
Retention depends on the type of information and the system that processes it. Browser preference data remains on your device until you change the setting or clear site data. Hosting logs are kept only as reasonably needed for security and operations under the hosting configuration. Email is kept only as reasonably needed to answer the message, maintain a correction record, resolve a dispute, or meet applicable obligations.
Google controls the retention of information it processes through its services according to the Site's product settings, the visitor's choices, and Google's policies. We do not promise a universal automatic deletion date for data controlled by another provider.
7. Your Choices and Privacy Requests
You can choose Essential only or Accept all in the Site's privacy control and later reopen Cookie Preferences from the footer. You can also block or delete cookies and site storage in your browser, use Google Ad Settings, or use the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on where available.
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to ask about, access, correct, delete, restrict, or object to certain processing of personal information. To make a request about information First Place Fix controls, email contact@firstplacefix.com from the address connected with the request and identify the relevant message or interaction. We may need enough information to verify the request and will respond as required by applicable law.
This Site has no member account, so there is no account profile or account-deletion workflow.
8. Children's Privacy
First Place Fix is written for adults managing a home or rental and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly ask children to submit personal information. If you believe a child has sent personal information to the Site, contact us so we can review and delete it where appropriate.
9. International Processing
The Site and its service providers may process information in countries other than the country where you live. Privacy protections and government access rules may differ by location. Google provides additional information about its data practices and international processing in its own privacy materials.
10. Policy Changes
We may update this policy when Site features, service providers, privacy controls, or legal requirements change. The effective date at the top will show the latest revision. When a change materially affects how the Site handles information, we will provide an appropriate notice on the Site before or when the change takes effect where required.
11. Contact
For privacy questions or requests concerning information controlled by First Place Fix, email contact@firstplacefix.com. This address is not monitored as an emergency repair, legal, medical, security, or tenant-dispute service.
